Haka
Haka 145ds is a totally new concept where life aboard
benefits from a deck saloon without detracting for our usual seakindliness. Its profile stays in our bio-design
styling. Keeping a watch is possible from the galley,
chart table or settee. A quarter berth will be appreciated in bad weather.
The two large double cabins are situated where the motion is the most
comfortable at sea. Designed for voyaging, this layout allows a
rigid tender under the cockpit. A true engine room is under the saloon with
all heavy weights low and amidships. Designed to sail anywhere from SPITZBERG to
PATAGONIA, the sandwich construction uses AIREX foam, epoxy resin and Kevlar
to cope with eventual collisions. With sandwich watertight bulkheads, she is
unsinkable. The Lerouge Twin Keel System provides shoal-draft with
trouble-free drying out and easy maintenance. The cutter
rig is extremely easy to handle. A carbon mast was chosen to combine a tall
rig with low centre of gravity and total reliability. Haka 145bm was optimised for cold moulded epoxy
construction. The pivoting NACA section centreboard ensures
good windward performance and allows the adjustment of the balance under
sails. The twin rudders give perfect control in broaching conditions. Keel
and rudder skegs protect the hull and propeller for
drying out. The accommodation plan shown has been
designed to the owner's requirements to sleep a crew of 10. This layout with
aft saloon and amidships cabin is well suited to a centreboarder
and practical offshore as well as in harbours. The flush-deck and its central cockpit are
extremely strong and easy to build. The deck plan is perfect for sail
handling, sunbathing or to inflate the dinghy while the cockpit is well
sheltered. |

The new Haka 146
benefits from the latest researches in yacht design to combine high
performance, shoal draft and cruising comfort.
The cutter rig is powerful, efficient yet rugged and
extremely easy to handle. Its yankee
furls well. The staysail will be extremely useful to beat in rough weather. A
large choice of light sails is available to get the best speed in pleasant
conditions. The carbon mast allows a tall rig without stability penalty.
Construction is extremely strong in sandwich Airex/epoxy/glass and Kevlar reinforcements. Crash-box and watertight bulkheads add to
safety.
The interior is customised around a semi deck saloon and
the forward of the large cockpit is sheltered by the cabin.
The
striking styling is done by Jean-Michel Ducancelle. |

Matin Bleu is designed for an experimental rig with wingsails on freestanding masts. Its efficiency is well suited to such a sleek
and light hull with shoal draft. Her flush-deck
facilitates her plywood sandwich construction. This is a very simple
boat for easy maintenance while voyaging. |
